Scoring with Christmas

Isa Berkelmans is a dedicated volunteer at RWB, a local amateur football club in Waalwijk. Sports clubs often form the social backbone of villages and neighborhoods, bringing people together and strengthening ties. In the run-up to Christmas, RWB organized a Christmas Tree Campaign, with the aim of raising funds for the club's 120th anniversary.
Creative at events
Isa, who works as an administrative assistant during the day and has a passion for graphic design, tells us about her role at RWB: “It all started with my boyfriend, an active member of the events committee at RWB. He would sometimes share things with me and I thought along, especially about the creative part. The committee consisted solely of men; they could use some female creativity. My creative input was quickly noticed and before I knew it, I was an integral part of the team.”
Isa now takes care of and designs all promotional material for club events. From flyers to social media posts, Isa's work helps make the club and its events visible and vibrant. It's always a challenge to put the events in the spotlight and to ensure they run smoothly. But, as Isa says: “It's really cool to see how everyone in the football club comes together.”

Ordering christmas trees with Vev
The most recent event Isa was involved in was the annual Christmas Tree Campaign. This time the goal was to bolster the coffers of RWB for the organization of the 24th lustrum. With a smart combination of traditional marketing and social media, the team managed to sell a lot of Christmas trees.
But what really helped this year was a smooth online ordering and pickup process on two designated Saturdays. Isa says, “We were looking for a system to start sales. When it came time to implement such an order and reservation system, I came across Vev. We needed something intuitive and simple. Vev met all these requirements.”
With Vev, RWB could accept pre-orders, a crucial part of the success of the Christmas tree sale. All RWB members, their families, their friends, and acquaintances could order a Christmas tree 24 hours a day. Isa especially praises the user-friendliness of Vev and the QR code tool, which they used in their promotional materials. “The QR code tool was my favorite feature, which we definitely used on the flyers. Scan the code and you're in the order screen, how convenient is that! It made the process so much smoother for our customers,” she notes.

Efficient for everyone
Not only the Christmas tree buyers were happy with Vev, but also the Christmas tree campaign volunteers found the event much more pleasant. The pickup process of the Christmas trees was much more efficient. Isa says, “Thanks to pre-chosen pickup times, there were no more peak and off-peak moments and it took us all much less time. No lines and no moments of twiddling thumbs, ideal. This year we did not yet offer delivery, but that's definitely a nice addition we'll be using next year. Just like getting paid through Vev, I will definitely remember that, because Vev can be used with different types of sales events.”

120 Years and beyond
Next year, the 120th anniversary will be celebrated extensively, partly thanks to the successful Christmas tree campaign, sufficient budget has been created. Looking at the coming years, Isa is enthusiastic about the possibilities. RWB is a vibrant association and there are many great events on the schedule. Isa: “With Vev, we have more time to focus on what's really important - football, bringing the club together, and having lots of fun.”
